This is a
trial to see if this space is useful as a connection point to people
keen about both things that I have a passion for: medicine and
education.
My background is
in general practice , having had over 20 years of experience in caring
for patients in this setting . I am one of the senior doctors and
principal owner of a medical practice called The Village Medical
Practice which serves the local community and others who want to make
this practice their "Medical Home" http://medicalhome.org.au/.
Together
with our team of doctors and nurses, we provide comprehensive general
practice services which are based on an eclectic approach to healing,
focused on what works for patients and their carers. Our doctors and
staff are keen to work with you to provide patient-centred care . Look
at our website for more details about our services. www.villagemedicalpractice.com.au
Since
2008, I have been working at the University of Notre Dame , School of
Medicine Sydney as Senior Lecturer and Group Tutor to the First year
MBBS students . In 2011, I took on the part time role of Year
Coordinator. As an educator and manager, I enjoy being a mentor to our
future doctors , contributing to their journey towards a career and
vocation in medicine. My role as manager here allows me to organise the
medical tutors to create a collegiate stimulating environment for them
to flourish as teachers and mentors to their students. Check out what we do at the University. www.nd.edu.au
